About This Dorkshop:

Have you ever wanted to repurpose existing electronics for your own projects? In this dorkShop, Manuel Rueda and Brett Burton will teach you the basics of hardware hacking, or repurposing the circuits of consumer electronics and toys for new projects.

Hardware hacking is a great way to rapidly prototype in a reliable and cheap manner. We’ll take apart different products like keyboards and toys to identify key circuits that will e...nable you to manipulate and reappropriate their functionality using the output of a micro controller like Arduino.

dorkShops are free and open to the public. No experience necessary. Scroll down to sign up!

Some Arduino microprocessor boards are available to borrow for the workshop, but please bring your own if you have access to one. Come with the Arduino program software installed on your computer (www.arduino.cc), tools that you have such as; wire strippers, multi-meter, electrical tape, exacto knife, screw driver set.
