dorkShops are skill-sharing events of the nerd variety.
dorkShops are free and open to all. No experience required.

dorkShops are run by students at Parsons The New School of Design, specifically in the Design and Technology program. We all have unique talents and skill sets that we'd like to share with everyone. We want to introduce you to new things. We want to share our creations with you. We'd like you to share your skills and creations with us.

A wide variety of skill levels are in attendance at each event, but we expect most people to be beginners or need a lot of help. If you have specific projects you need help with, bring them and we'll try to help answer your questions. Some dorkShops will have advanced breakout sessions depending on the demand.

Dorkshops cover a variety of topics including:

  • coding
  • time-based editing/design software
  • web design
  • open source software
  • mobile media
  • visual design
  • digital art
  • physical computing
